Web of Science




Web of Science is a bibliographic and bibliometric database which includes so called citation indexes. It gives access to the following citation indexes:

  • Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) – a citaton index of articles in journals in the field of technology and natural sciences (since 1945)
  • Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) – a citation index of articles in journals from social sciences (since 1956)
  • Art & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI) – a citation index of articles in journals from arts and humanities (since 1975)
  • Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) – a citation index of proceedings in technology and natural sciences (since 1990)
  • Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Social Science & Humanities (CPCI-SSH) – a citation index of proceedings in social sciences and humanities (since 1990)

  • Indexes contain abstracts, basic bibliographic data and information about citations from journals listed on the Master Journal List (called the Philadelphia List) that inludes 16,500 journals.
    Documents retrieved from this database may be organized by the field of science, type of the document, author, title, source, date of being published, title of the conference, institution, language, country) and sorted by: date, number of citations, level of relevancy, first author, title of the source, istitution and title of the conference.
