UpToDate is a full-text database prepared by 4,000 physicians who are leading specialists from all over the world. It consists of 10,000 clinical topics across 20 specialties, full monographies of medical conditions with appropriate treatment recommendations. It allows to get quick and reliable information at the point of care. The database comprises the evidence-based medicine content.
UpToDate:
- gives access to the most current knowledge from the chosen medical specialty
- helps to make a decision in terms of diagnosis and treatment, includes information about effectiveness, posology (dosage) and interaction of particular drugs
- The text indexed in the database is reviewed.
- The indexed studies are prepared by physicians-practitioners for physitians-practitioners.
- Information included in the database is updated every 4 months. However, if there are some crucial changes, the text is updated immediately.
